Educational Assistance
Cobham relies on our highly educated workforce. We pride ourselves on an environment of continuous learning. To that end, we offer a tuition reimbursement program that covers undergraduate and graduate programs.

Employees who wish to take advantage of this benefit must submit a plan that identifies the target degree and specifies the courses the employee plans to take. All plans require Director-level approval. To be eligible for reimbursement, plans and courses must be approved in advance of the class start date.

Cobham offers salaried employees 100% tuition reimbursement up to the IRS non-taxable limit. Bargaining Unit employees are provided with 100% tuition reimbursement up to a maximum of $3,000 per year.

Detailed information on this benefit can be found in the following documents:

Individual Development Plans (IDP)
Typically, salaried employees have an IDP as part of the performance review process. All salaried employees receive annual performance reviews. Employees’ completion of their IDPs is assessed as part of this process.

An employee’s IDP provides a wealth of learning opportunity. For instance, an IDP can encourage an employee to go back to school using the Educational Assistance benefit. IDPs are also used to encourage employee participation in shorter training sessions (usually 1 week or less), developmental assignments, or on the job training.

Regardless of the nature of the IDP, each is designed to encourage individual growth AND provide a return to the company by reinforcing our commitment to continuous learning.
