 The Cobham vision benefit provides frames and lenses, contact lenses (in lieu of glasses) and an annual vision exam – all at minimal cost to the employee. Employees may visit any Optometrist, Ophthalmologist, and Optician under this plan.
Administered by United Healthcare, there are a few exclusions in the plan. Dilatation and refraction are only covered when billed as part of a vision exam. The plan does not cover progressive lenses, tinting, or scratch coating.

Safety Glasses
Cobham provides safety glasses free of charge to those employees who work in areas that require them.
Providers
Cobham employees may visit any eye care provider. United Healthcare has a directory of providers with negotiated discount rates. It costs employees less to use these providers.
Submitting a Claim
Some providers do not submit claims as a matter of policy. To submit a claim, follow these simple steps:
- Get an itemized receipt.
- Make a copy of the receipt and write on it: “member paid” along with your UHC member number.
- Send the copy to the address located on the back of your insurance card.
