Life at Cobham Mission Systems Division
Cobham is different from most manufacturers. For starters, we design virtually all of the products we make - beginning with a customer’s requirements. We manufacture precision products that require machining tolerances as fine as a human hair.
Most of our assemblers hold Associate’s Degrees: their assembly skills are as critical as their understanding of their units’ functionality.
We design, manufacture and test oxygen, nitrogen and cryogenic cooling systems to specifically meet customer requirements. Our customers include all four branches of the Armed Services as well as firms such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Northrop Grumman.
Over 65% of our workforce is made up of technicians and engineers. Our technical and professional staffs have educational backgrounds from Associate Degrees to PhDs.
Our production facility is clean, safe, and climate controlled. All office areas boast 120 degree workstations. The entire facility includes approximately 205,000 square feet, under a single roof.
Employee retention at Cobham is high – very high. Our voluntary turnover rate over the last 5 years is slightly more than 2.5%. Our employees feel a strong connection to our products and to one another. We pay employees fairly and continually examine our pay practices against the market – locally, regionally and nationally. We have an excellent benefits package, an on-site fitness center, a full service café (we employ our own chef), and a cutting edge health promotion program.
In short, life at Cobham Mission Systems Division is pretty darn good.
