Bendix Aviation founded the company in 1951 and the sold the facility to Litton Industries in 1982. Northrop Grumman Corporation acquired Litton Industries in 2001 and then in August 2003, divested the Life Support division, based in Davenport, IA, to Cobham plc, Dorsett, United Kingdom. Carleton Life Support is now part of the Carleton Technologies family of companies owned by Cobham.

Carleton Life Support Announces Promotions

Carleton Life Support Systems (CLSS) continues to improve operations by instituting Lean manufacturing methods. As a result, the following employees have been promoted to Value Stream Managers. Each of these individuals has responsibility for the breadth of order fulfillment for their respective product lines:

Will Fossey - Value Stream Manager for Cryogenic Coolers. Will has been with CLSS for three years, previously as a Programmer/Analyst.

Scott Harvey - Value Stream Manager for Fabrication. Scott has been with CLSS for 17 years. He has held Operations Management positions for over five years and was previously Manager of Manufacturing Engineering. Scott is a Mechanical Engineer.

Bryan Heath - Value Stream Manager for Air Separation products, has been with CLSS five years. He initiated Lean manufacturing in the Cryogenic Cooler Value Stream and was previously a Senior Industrial Engineer.

Matt Molumby - Value Stream Manager for Ceramic Oxygen Generation Systems, has been with CLSS for six years and has held positions as a Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, and most recently as a Marketing Manager.

Jim Roberts - Value Stream Manager for Regulators, has 11 years experience with CLSS, starting as a Technician and progressing to Sr. Field Service Engineer.

Ralph Wilcox - Value Stream Manager for Product Development has worked for CLSS for 22 years. He has been an Engineer, an Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager.


Other promotions at Carleton Life Support are:

John Walker, previously Operations Manager of Manufacturing and Supply has been named Plant Engineering Manager. John has worked at CLSS for 21 years, starting as a Tool & Die Maker and progressing to a variety of senior level managerial positions in Operations.

Tracy Keith Gerth has been promoted to Contract & Administration Manager. Tracy has worked at CLSS for 27 years, first as a Clerk with progressive clerical responsibilities, as a Buyer, Contract Administrator and most recently as a Contracts Manager.
