Bendix Aviation founded the company in 1951 and the sold the facility to Litton Industries in 1982. Northrop Grumman Corporation acquired Litton Industries in 2001 and then in August 2003, divested the Life Support division, based in Davenport, IA, to Cobham plc, Dorsett, United Kingdom. Technical (Career Path)

Designer – A Designer designs components, systems, and equipment, (mechanical or electrical) using CAD software. They also create detailed drawings of parts and assemblies. This position requires employs to have an Associates Degree in a related field or work related equivalent. They also need to be proficient in Pro/E software.

Electronic Engineer – An Electronic Engineer works in a team environment on the development of military monitoring and control hardware plus PC based automated test systems. The Electronics Team will focus on the design and analysis of: discrete and microprocessor based digital hardware; embedded systems; analog and digital mixed circuits; and printed wiring board development of a world leading ceramic oxygen generating system. They also develop state-of-the-art oxygen monitors, oxygen generators, and inerting systems for high performance aircraft. This position requires employees to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum school.

Manufacturing Engineer – A Manufacturing Engineer identifies efficient fabrication and assembly processes. They develop efficient and reliable coating and assembly, and identify capital equipment and facilities requirements. They also incorporate new processes and technology into new and existing designs to reduce the cost and improve the quality of our products. This position requires employees to have a Bachelor’s of Science in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited curriculum school.

Mechanical Engineer – A Mechanical Engineer conceives, develops, and provides technical support of new pneumatic and electro-pneumatic products. They also provide guidance to CAD designers using PRO-Engineer, technicians, and manufacturing personnel during development and production. This position requires employees to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum school.

Network Administrator – A Network Administrator analyzes local network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites. They also install and maintain network operations including software and hardware. This position requires employees to have an Associates Degree or work-related equivalent plus one year related work experience.

Programmer/Analyst – A Programmer/Analyst analyzes and repairs software related problems. They also create and maintain programs, tests and debugs new programs, and assists users with troubleshooting problems. This position requires employees to have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or work related equivalent and an in-depth knowledge of applicable program languages.

Quality Engineer – A Quality Engineer provides technical support on quality and contractual related issues to internal and external customers. They also serve as a quality representative on Configuration Control Board as necessary. This position requires employees to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited curriculum school.

Technician R&D – A Technician R&D assembles prototypes of new products without assembly instructions. They determine procedures, sequences and techniques from assembly drawing or verbal instructions. This position requires employees to have an Associate’s Degree and a minimum of three years troubleshooting experience.
